FAQs

  • We distribute multilingual educational fliers and posters, and publish accessible resources on our website to promote awareness, encourage activism, and inform communities about the dangers of skin-whitening practices. For additional details, please visit the Nīla Project page.

  • The Nīla Project was created in response to the widespread normalization of skin-whitening and the deep effects of colorism on self-esteem, especially in South Asian and African communities. Seeing how these harmful standards shape daily life inspired us to build an organization focused on promoting pride in natural skin tones and challenging discriminatory beauty norms.

  • We are fortunate to have already met our fundraising goal, so the most meaningful way to support our mission is by helping spread information about our movement and assisting with the distribution of fliers. For additional details or collaboration inquiries, please contact us at nilaproject24@gmail.com.

  • We are currently in the process of obtaining official 501(c)(3) nonprofit certification. Once the approval is complete, we will provide an update on our website and all public materials.
